Neowiz and Gamfs N have just released the first content update for BrownDust2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed Onsen Training, this update adds a sizzling twist to the game's universe.
Onsen Training transports players to a serene Japanese winter hot spring, where they'll engage in thrilling swordfighting battles and face numerous BrownDust2-style challenges, all while dealing with a dash of monkey mischief. It's both amusing and exhilarating.
BrownDust2 Is Ready for an Onsen Training
The update introduces three new characters to the fray. Ventana, the story's protagonist, along with Liberta, are available as playable characters through the pickup draw. Meanwhile, Blade remains a narrative-exclusive character.
Set in the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden’s Gate of BrownDust2, the Onsen Training event story unfolds over 30 battles, divided into 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.
The narrative kicks off with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, who, after a devastating defeat by the hands of new student Justia, seeks to restore her honor. She journeys to a snowy mountain hot spring, rumored to boost physical strength. However, her training is disrupted by the playful antics of the Snowy Mountain Monkeys.
Ventana is saved by Blade, a legendary Kendo Club alumnus, who, despite her pleas, refuses to teach her swordsmanship. Enter Liberta, the hot spring manager, who vows to assist Ventana in earning Blade's mentorship.
There’s a New Mini-Game
Onsen Tile Tactics is the new mini-game where players must clear tiles against the clock. The event story unfolds in phases, beginning with Legendary Graduate in the first week and culminating with Beyond Legend in the third week.
Players will battle both returning and new bosses. The first week sees the return of Giant Rou, the Fiend Hunter boss, while the third week introduces the Snowy Mountain Tyrant, a formidable monkey that becomes stronger when targeting enemies with damage-over-time effects.
Additionally, the Guild Raid boss, Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut. With no elemental properties, Rucersingha unleashes devastating attacks and requires multiple chain stacks to defeat.
The update also brings new gear and costumes for players to collect. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
