March events are in full swing in *Pokemon GO*, and we're gearing up to celebrate the change of seasons with a special event focused on bug-type Pokemon. The Bug Out event offers a fantastic opportunity to catch these critters, along with some excellent bonuses and new avatar items to enhance your gaming experience.
Event Details
When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?
The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* **starts on March 26 at 10 AM local time and runs until 8 PM local time on March 30.** This gives you a five-day window to collect all those fascinating bug-type Pokemon that would have Misty running for the hills. It's also an ideal time for Shiny hunting, as nearly every featured Pokemon has a Shiny variant in *Pokemon GO*.
Featured Wild Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event
According to the official page, you'll encounter the following bug-type Pokemon more frequently in the wild during the Bug Out event:
- Caterpie
- Weedle
- Wurmple
- Nincada
- Venipede
- Dwebble
- Joltik
- Grubbin
- Dewpider
- Nymble
- Cutiefly (with Shiny potential)
New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event
Two new Pokemon will make their debut in *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. You can evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch with 50 Sizzlipede Candy.
Featured Raid Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event
Get ready for a variety of raids during the *Pokemon GO* Bug Out event. Here are the Pokemon you can expect to encounter at raid gyms. Those marked with an asterisk (*) can appear in their Shiny forms.

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses
Trainers can enjoy the following bonuses throughout the Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO*:
- Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
- More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
- More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
- Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
- Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
- Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.
Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research
Spinning PokeStops during the event will grant you event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon.
In addition, there will be Timed Research rewards, including a Lure Module and encounters with the event's Pokemon. The Paid Timed Research offers a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with the event's Pokemon. Remember, both types of research must be completed and rewards claimed before the event ends.
Pokemon GO Bug Avatar Items

New bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop starting with the Bug Out event. These items include:
- Sizzlipede Boots
- Scolipede Jacket
Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges
The Pokemon GO Bug Out event features Collection Challenges focused on event-themed Pokemon. Completing these challenges will earn you rewards such as Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
