13 ImagesDark Regards is the creative vision of comedian, writer, and musician Dave Hill, teaming up with artist Artyom Topilin, known for his work on Cruel Universe and I Hate This Place. This four-issue series draws inspiration from Hill's own journey in forming a fictional Satanic metal band, Witch Taint, and the chaotic aftermath that followed.

Two decades ago, Dave Hill and his first band set out to rock their high school auditorium with a blaze of heavy metal fury. They failed spectacularly. Fast forward to the present, and Dave has carved out a niche for himself in New York's comedy scene, where being laughed at is part of the job description. But when the allure of Norwegian black metal rekindles his musical aspirations, Dave crafts an exaggerated alter ego and a band to match, reigniting his long-lost rock 'n roll dream. However, when Dave's online fabrications about Witch Taint – a band so extreme that sharp objects must be removed before playing their music – reach Europe, his tale spirals out of control. Norway's most hardcore black metal enthusiasts set their sights on revenge, putting everything Dave cherishes at risk.

In a statement, Hill shared, “A few years back, I sat down in my underwear late one night and let my obsession with Norwegian black metal take over. I emailed a Norwegian black metal record label, claiming their bands were terrible without ever hearing them, and pitched my ultra-extreme band, Witch Taint, which didn't exist beyond its name. This led to months of unexpected correspondence that I never meant for anyone to see. But the internet being what it is, the story went viral. Now, beyond my wildest dreams, it's become my first comic book series, Dark Regards, co-created with the incredible Artyom Topilin. If you miss out on any issue, you're missing out big time.”
