Weapon Upgrades in Jingle Hells
Forget Salvage! In Jingle Hells, weapon upgrades rely on Aether Tools, consumable items with varying rarity levels (color-coded). Using an Aether Tool upgrades your weapon to that rarity tier (e.g., a Purple Aether Tool yields a Legendary weapon). Here's how to find them:
- Church Spire: Throw a grenade at the zombie head atop the church spire. The resulting zombie drop contains a chance at an Aether Tool; higher rounds increase the chance of a higher-rarity tool.
- Bank Vault: Loot Keys unlock safety deposit boxes inside the Bank Vault, which may contain Aether Tools.
- S.A.M. Trials: Completing S.A.M. Trials, especially at higher reward tiers, offers a chance to acquire Aether Tools.
- Hidden Power GobbleGum: Instantly upgrades a weapon to Legendary rarity.
- Mystery Box, Wall Buys, Holiday Presents: Weapons obtained from these sources increase in rarity as the round progresses.
Ammo Mods: Cryo Freeze
Currently, only the Cryo Freeze Ammo Mod is available in Jingle Hells. It drops as a consumable item and is primarily obtained from:
- Holiday Presents: These random loot drops offer a higher chance of higher-rarity rewards in later rounds. Holiday Presents can be found by:
- Killing enemies.
- Using the Naughty or Nice power-up (Nice yields multiple presents; Naughty spawns vermin).
- The S.A.M. Machine spawns presents upon activation.
Equipment and Support
The absence of the Workbench means no Salvage-based crafting. However, equipment and Support items can still be acquired through:
- Enemy Drops: Killing enemies, especially Special and Elite enemies, has a chance to drop equipment and Support items.
- Holiday Presents: As mentioned above, these can contain equipment and Support.
- S.A.M. Trials: These trials can reward equipment and Support.
