RGG Studio Says Their Next Title Will Be ‘Surprising’ -----------------------------------------------------Another Surprising Shift?
On the third day of Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California, Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio hosted the Essence of Fandom: Like a Dragon & Yakuza Experience. The event, moderated by Linda “VampyBitMe” Le, featured Like a Dragon Chief Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto and Voice Actor of Ichiban Kasuga, Kazuhiro Nakaya.
During the event, the studio representatives teased the upcoming game, stating, "We can’t tell you what kind of game it is, but I will tell you, you’ll be surprised." This intriguing statement was captured and shared by user @TheYakuzaGuy on Twitter, who confirmed that the studio is working on a new entry in the Like a Dragon series.

Given that the seventh mainline game in the series shifted to a full-on JRPG format, diverging from its traditional action beat 'em up roots, the announcement of another "surprising" entry has sparked numerous speculations. Fans are eagerly anticipating whether this could be a rhythm game centered around the beloved karaoke mini-game, a spin-off focusing on other series characters, or perhaps a remake or sequel to previous spin-offs such as Yakuza: Dead Souls or the Japan-exclusive Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan.
