"Freedom Wars Remastered: All Weapon Types Detailed"

In *Freedom Wars Remastered*, players have the exciting opportunity to equip two weapons of their choice before embarking on an Operation. With six distinct weapon types available, you can mix and match to tailor your character to any play style you desire. Each weapon type offers unique features, some of which include special effects that activate when charged up. There are three gun weapons and three melee weapons, all of which can be customized to enhance your gaming experience. Here's a detailed look at the six main weapon types and their distinctive characteristics:

Every Weapon Type In Freedom Wars Remastered

The game features a total of six weapon types, which you can acquire by successfully completing operations or by making purchases at the Zakka store in The Warren. While you can't choose the weapons for your Comrades, you have full control over your Accessory's equipment. Feel free to switch your weapons or your Accessory's weapons at any time, as there's no advantage or disadvantage to frequently changing them or sticking with the same ones. Below is an overview of the six weapon types:

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee
  • Quick attacks suitable for faster playstyles and targeting single enemies.
  • Can sever Abductor limbs without the need for a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee
  • Wide arcing attacks that deliver substantial damage.
  • Well-placed attacks can strike multiple limbs of Abductors, resulting in multiplied damage as if hitting them multiple times.
  • Charged attacks can launch you into the air at the end of your combo.
  • Slightly reduces your movement speed when equipped.
Polearm
  • Most attacks involve charging through enemies, helping you evade incoming attacks.
  • Charged attacks allow you to throw your polearm, inflicting massive damage from a safe distance.
Assault Weapons
  • High total ammo capacity, ideal as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds.
  • Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne, allowing for better angles or shooting from a safe distance.
Portable Artillery
  • High single-shot damage with a low overall ammo capacity.
  • Explosive AOE shots that can hit multiple limbs, dealing more damage simultaneously.
  • Reduces your movement speed when equipped.
Autocannons
  • High rate of fire with a large ammo capacity and magazine size.
  • Individual shots don't deal much damage, but the high rate of fire compensates for this.
  • Reduces your movement speed when equipped.

It's worth noting that, unlike the player, your Accessory does not need to worry about ammo when using gun weapons. This feature allows for more strategic and uninterrupted combat scenarios.
