Exciting news for fans of Split Fiction—the acclaimed co-op action adventure is being adapted into a film, according to Variety. The report highlights that multiple top Hollywood studios have been vying for the movie rights, prompting Story Kitchen, a media company renowned for transforming games and other non-traditional properties into film and TV, to assemble a comprehensive package. This includes the project's writers, director, and cast. Story Kitchen, formerly known as dj2 Entertainment, previously managed the upcoming film adaptation of Hazelight Studios' It Takes Two and is also behind the Sonic the Hedgehog films and Netflix's Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. At this stage, no further details have been disclosed.
Adding to the good news, Split Fiction achieved remarkable sales figures, with over two million copies sold in its first week on the market. IGN's review praised the game as an unmissable co-op adventure that remains fabulously fresh throughout its full, 14-hour duration.
In related news, Hazelight director Josef Fares announced earlier this week that the studio is already working on its next game.
