Excitement is building for Disney enthusiasts as new details and images of the upcoming Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris have been unveiled. Set to commence construction in Fall 2025, this attraction will be a cornerstone of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World.
The Lion King-themed land will not only host a thrilling new water ride that brings to life the iconic scenes from the 1994 classic but will also feature a majestic 120-foot-high Pride Rock. Guests can look forward to a plethora of experiences including dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greets, enhancing the immersive world of The Lion King.
Disney has shared a captivating concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying grubs amidst a lush jungle environment. This scene is just a snippet of the adventure that awaits, which includes a thrilling 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
While an exact opening date has not been announced, the ride is slated to open after the grand debut of World of Frozen in 2026. The Lion King ride is part of the expansive Disney Adventure World, which will double the current park's size.
In addition to The Lion King and World of Frozen, Disney Adventure World will introduce the Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another exciting addition is the first-ever attraction themed after Up, designed as a spinning carousel offering panoramic views of the park's breathtaking scenery.
The new park entrance, World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, will emulate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will house theaters showcasing productions like TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
