The excitement is building for Magic: The Gathering's upcoming set, Aetherdrift, which promises an exhilarating multiplanar death race across the multiverse. Let's dive into the details of these new additions. First up is the Cloudspire Coordinator, an uncommon creature that encapsulates the essence of Aetherdrift's red-white color pairing. This card is a nod to the Cloudspire Racing Team from the plane of Kylem, introduced in the 2018 set, Battlebond. With a power of 3, Cloudspire Coordinator can crew vehicles on its own, and its activated ability generates Pilot token creatures to take the wheel. It's a versatile choice for anyone drafting a red-white deck in the Aetherdrift environment.

The spotlight, however, shines on Count on Luck, a rare 3-mana enchantment that's as direct as its all-red-pip casting cost suggests. At the beginning of each of your turns, Count on Luck exiles the top card of your library, allowing you to play it that turn. This "impulse draw" mechanic offers a consistent stream of additional cards for your mono-red deck, provided you can utilize them immediately. It's a use-it-or-lose-it scenario that adds a thrilling layer of strategy.

We're also excited to showcase Count on Luck in its extended-art and First-Place Foil versions. While the extended art simply expands the artwork by removing the card frame on the sides, the First-Place Foils introduce a dazzling new element to Aetherdrift. These golden cards are exclusive to a randomized buy-a-box promo pack included with every Aetherdrift box, and they feature all the set's rares, as well as 10 full-art lands.

Mark your calendars—Aetherdrift will hit the streets, both in paper and online formats, on February 14, with prereleases starting on February 7. For a deeper dive into the set's mechanics, click here.
