Marvel Snap's Amazing Spider-Season Swings into Action!
September brings a new Marvel Snap (Free) season, and it's a web-slinging extravaganza! This season introduces a game-changing mechanic: Activate abilities. Unlike "On Reveal," Activate abilities let you choose when to trigger a card's effect, offering strategic flexibility and avoiding certain counter-strategies.
The Season Pass card, Symbiote Spider-Man, is a prime example. This 4-cost, 6-power card's Activate ability lets you absorb the lowest-cost card at a location and copy its effect – even triggering On Reveal abilities again! Expect this card to be a major player, potentially requiring a nerf later in the season.
Beyond Symbiote Spider-Man, the season introduces several other compelling cards:
- Silver Sable: A 1-cost, 1-power card with an On Reveal ability that steals 2 power from the top card of your opponent's deck.
- Madame Web: An Ongoing ability card that lets you move one card at her location to another location once per turn.
- Arana: A 1-cost, 1-power card with an Activate ability that moves the next card you play to the right and gives it +2 power. A strong addition to move-based decks.
- Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly): A 4-cost, 5-power card with an Activate ability that spawns an identical clone at another location.
Two new locations also join the fray:
- Brooklyn Bridge: A location with the unique restriction that you can't play cards there on consecutive turns.
- Otto's Lab: The next card played here pulls a card from your opponent's hand into the location – adding an element of surprise.
