In response to a significant PlayStation Network (PSN) outage that lasted for 24 hours, Capcom has decided to extend the beta testing period for the highly anticipated game, Monster Hunter Wilds. The PSN downtime occurred from around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services resumed approximately 24 hours later. Sony attributed the disruption to an "operational issue" and compensated PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service.
The outage severely impacted the gaming community, particularly those participating in the Monster Hunter Wilds beta. The second beta session, originally scheduled from February 6 to February 9, was cut short due to the inability to play online. In light of this, Capcom has extended the next session by 24 hours, now running from February 13 at 7pm PT / February 14 at 3am GMT to February 17 at 6:59 pm PT / February 18 at 2:59 am GMT.
During this extended period, players will still have the opportunity to earn participation bonuses that will carry over to the full version of the game upon its release. Despite the interruption, beta participants were able to engage with the game's challenging new monster, Arkveld.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
