Nintendo has exciting news for fans and early risers alike: the interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, is set for an expanded release in March 2025. Dive into the details of this official wider release and explore the unique features of this innovative device.
Nintendo’s Latest Announcement
Not a Switch 2, but Alarmo

Nintendo took to their Twitter (X) account to announce that Alarmo will be more widely available starting in March 2025. Within the next couple of months, you'll find Alarmo gracing the shelves of major retailers such as Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other Nintendo-approved outlets worldwide.

A significant change with this release is the removal of the Nintendo Online membership requirement, making Alarmo accessible to everyone. Priced at $99.99 USD, this device is set to wake up a broader audience.
While fans are thrilled about Alarmo's expanded availability, the buzz around the potential announcement of the Switch 2 remains strong. Nintendo, however, continues to keep details under wraps, leaving fans eagerly awaiting any news on their next big console.
Nintendo Alarmo Sold Out A Day After its Announcement

The demand for Alarmo was evident immediately after its announcement on October 9, 2024. In Japan, the device sold out so quickly that Nintendo had to suspend sales on the My Nintendo Store and switch to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.
"We have received an overwhelming number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo since its release on October 9th. As a result, we are currently suspending sales on the My Nintendo Store and transitioning to a lottery sale system for our Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. We apologize for any inconvenience and are working diligently to produce more units to meet demand."
In New York City, Alarmo also sold out on the same day, but without a lottery system in place. Customers were promised updates on restocking.
Nintendo Alarmo Features

Alarmo, launched by Nintendo in 2024, brings a playful twist to waking up with sound effects from beloved games such as Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3. With 42 scenes to choose from, and more to be added via free updates like Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Alarmo offers a personalized wake-up experience.
When you select a scene, a character from the game will appear on the clock's screen, waiting patiently. As the alarm sounds, the character will rise and emit a gentle sound. A visitor will soon join, and you can quiet the alarm by waving your hand or moving your body, thanks to Alarmo's motion sensor. If you linger in bed, a more insistent visitor will appear, and the sound will intensify until you get up.

Beyond its alarm function, Alarmo enhances your environment with hourly chimes and sleep sounds themed to your chosen scene. It also tracks your sleep patterns, recording your time in bed and movement during sleep.
For those sharing their bed with others or pets, Nintendo recommends setting Alarmo to Button Mode. While initially requiring a Nintendo Online membership, this restriction will be lifted with the expanded release in March 2025, ensuring more people can enjoy this unique alarm clock.
