Path of Exile 2's Hidden Golden Idols: A Guide to Finding and Selling Them
Path of Exile 2 features numerous quests, some less obvious than others. Act 3 introduces a unique collectible: Golden Idols. These are classified as Quest Items, but their function differs from typical quest items. Unlike most quest items, finding a Golden Idol doesn't update your quest log. Furthermore, while standard Quest Items are typically traded with NPCs to advance a quest, Golden Idols offer a different reward.
These five valuable items are highly sought after for their substantial gold value.
Locating the Golden Idols in Path of Exile 2
After completing the initial exploration of the Vaal ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment in Act 3, a portal transports you to the past, revealing the once-magnificent Vaal city of Utzaal (known as The Drowned City in the present). Explore Utzaal and the connected area of Aggorat to discover these hidden treasures.
The Golden Idols are located within Utzaal and Aggorat, not dropped by enemies. You'll find them on the ground or on pedestals, often tucked away in side rooms.

Cashing In Your Golden Idols
Once you've collected a Golden Idol, return to the Ziggurat Encampment and sell them to Oswald, located in the northern part of the area. He's the only vendor who will buy them. The selling prices are:
- Golden Idol: 500 Gold
- Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
- Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
- Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
- Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold
Finding all five Idols nets you a substantial 6000 Gold. Since they occupy inventory space and have no other use, it's recommended to sell them immediately after discovery.
