As we approach the end of January, fans of Pokémon TCG Pocket have a reason to celebrate. The much-anticipated trading feature has finally debuted, alongside the exciting new expansion, Space-Time Smackdown!
So, how does trading work? It's quite straightforward: you can now trade cards with friends just as you would in real life. However, there are some limitations to keep in mind. Only cards of certain rarities (1-4 and 1-star) are eligible for trading, and you'll need resources like trade hourglasses and trade tokens to complete the trades. Despite these restrictions, it's a significant addition to the game.
But that's not all! The new Space-Time Smackdown expansion brings iconic legendary Pokémon like Dialga and Palkia to TCG Pocket. You'll also get to explore the Sinnoh region starters, Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, along with a plethora of other exciting additions!
Unfortunately, not everyone is thrilled with the new trading feature. There's been a somewhat frosty reception, which isn't surprising given the numerous caveats involved. While I believe the feature is a valuable addition and well-implemented, the restrictions and resource requirements have been a point of contention for many players. I think Pokémon TCG Pocket might have been better served by either omitting trading altogether or making it as unrestricted as possible.
Fortunately, there's hope on the horizon. The developers are reportedly monitoring the feature's reception closely, hinting that adjustments may be forthcoming.
