Shift Up, the creative force behind the acclaimed action-adventure game Stellar Blade, celebrated its team's hard work by gifting each employee a PlayStation 5 Pro and a substantial bonus of around $3,400. Launched in April 2024, Stellar Blade quickly became one of the year's standout titles, garnering widespread acclaim and positive reviews from both players and critics.

Despite initial debates over the protagonist's attire, Stellar Blade achieved remarkable success on the PS5 after its April 2024 debut. The game boasts an impressive average score of 82 on OpenCritic, along with numerous awards and nominations. It's celebrated for its dynamic combat, stunning art direction, and captivating soundtrack. Yoko Taro, the creator of Nier, praised Stellar Blade as "better than NieR: Automata," a compliment that the game's director humbly refuted. The dedicated team behind Stellar Blade was recently honored for their contributions, receiving well-deserved bonuses to commemorate the game's ongoing triumph.

Shift Up shared a touching video on Twitter showcasing its staff collecting their complimentary PlayStation 5 Pros. With over 300 employees, the Korean studio ensured that every team member received one of Sony's upgraded consoles as an end-of-year bonus. Additionally, each employee was awarded a bonus of approximately $3,400. A company representative explained that these generous bonuses were intended to motivate the team for future endeavors. In July 2024, Shift Up successfully raised $320 million through a public offering on South Korea's stock market, marking it as the second-largest offering in the country for that year.

As Stellar Blade continues to captivate players, recent collaborations have kept the game in the spotlight. The November 2024 release of the Stellar Blade's Nier: Automata DLC introduced exciting new items and costumes. Later in December, it was revealed that Stellar Blade would collaborate with Goddess of Victory: Nikke, though specifics and a timeline remain undisclosed. A festive holiday event was added in mid-December, enhancing the city of Xion with decorations, new musical tracks, and unique costumes for Eve and Adam.

Initially exclusive to the PlayStation 5, Stellar Blade is set to expand to PC in 2025, though a specific release date has not been announced. Shift Up first hinted at a PC version in June 2024, expressing confidence that the game would perform exceptionally well on the new platform. Stellar Blade sold an impressive one million copies on the PS5 within just two months of its launch.
