HoYoverse has just unveiled an exciting new update for Tears of Themis titled the "Ballad of the Dunes." This update marks a unique collaboration event with Gansu Province's Culture & Tourism, bringing the allure of detective work together with the cultural richness of Dunhuang, a historic city on the edge of the Gobi Desert.
What Does Ballad of the Dunes Bring to Tears of Themis?
The "Ballad of the Dunes" event is an immersive journey through history, romance, and mystery, set against the backdrop of the ancient Silk Road. Players will dive into mystery-solving adventures enveloped in the vibrant heritage of Dunhuang.
This event introduces four new MR cards, each featuring one of the game's main characters—Luke, Artem, Vyn, and Marius—dressed in themes inspired by Dunhuang's rich culture. From flying apsaras and intricate murals to the classic pipa played behind the back, the designs echo the ancient performers of the Mogao Caves. The Silk Road, a historical conduit of art, culture, and trade from the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC–8 AD), comes to life in this digital rendition within Tears of Themis.
Each card not only adds to your collection but also unfolds a unique story. They include Luke's "In the Footsteps of Silk," Artem's "Serenade of the Soul," Vyn's "Reverberation Through Time," and Marius's "Void of Creation." Accompanying these cards are Private Messages that delve into a millennia-old journey.

What Are the Rewards?
From February 13th to February 20th, 2025, players can earn a variety of rewards by completing event tasks. These include Camel Bells, S-Chips, and other goodies. The main event challenge involves flipping cells on a game board to uncover hidden rewards.
The highlight of the event is the opportunity to win the "Ballad of the Dunes" MR card pack. In each round, players can select one of the four MR cards as their final reward. If you manage to flip 100 cells, you'll unlock the exclusive "Celebration – Dunes" Namecard.
