During Sony’s State of Play 2025, fans were treated to a captivating debut trailer for "Tides of Annihilation," a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure game developed by the new studio, Eclipse Glow Games. Described as a blend of "intense, breakneck combat, an immersive narrative, and an unforgettable setting," Tides of Annihilation promises to deliver a unique gaming experience.
Set in a modern-day London ravaged by mystical otherworldly forces, players take on the role of Gwendolyn, exploring the city's iconic landmarks. The gameplay involves calling in spectral Knights of the Round Table to aid in combat against enemies inspired by the Arthurian mythos, as well as battling colossal bosses that dwarf skyscrapers.
Eclipse Glow Games, based in Chengdu, China, and backed by Tencent's investment, comprises over 100 developers with experience from renowned franchises such as Yakuza, For Honor, Assassin’s Creed, Persona, and Prince of Persia. "Debuting Tides of Annihilation at Sony State of Play is an incredible, humbling accomplishment for the Eclipse Glow development team," said Kun Fu, Lead Game Producer at Eclipse Glow Games. He further emphasized that this is just the beginning, highlighting the game's reimagined Arthurian legend that intertwines themes of courage, loyalty, and heroism within an epic story set in a familiar yet strange environment.
