YouTuber Charged with Kidnapping

Prominent YouTube content creator Corey Pritchett is currently facing serious allegations of two counts of aggravated kidnapping. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on November 24, 2024, in southwest Houston, which has shocked many of his followers as the details emerged online. Authorities report that Pritchett left the United States shortly after the charges were filed, adding a layer of complexity to the case.

Corey Pritchett, a well-known content creator and social media personality from the United States, has built a significant following since starting his YouTube career in 2016. His main channel, "CoreySSG," has around 4 million subscribers, while his second channel, "CoreySSG Live," has surpassed 1 million subscribers. Pritchett is recognized for his engaging and relatable content, which includes family vlogs, challenges, and pranks. One of his most popular videos, "LET’S HAVE A BABY PRANK," has garnered over 12 million views.

The alleged kidnapping incident involved two women, aged 19 and 20, who met Pritchett at a gym and spent the day engaging in activities such as ATV riding and bowling. However, their experience turned terrifying when Pritchett reportedly threatened them at gunpoint, drove at high speeds on I-10, and confiscated their phones, telling them he planned to kill them. The women later reported to authorities that Pritchett seemed anxious, convinced someone was after him, and that he had been accused of setting a car on fire.

After stopping his vehicle, Pritchett allegedly gave the women one chance to escape, leading them to walk for over an hour until they found help and contacted the police. On December 26, 2024, Pritchett was charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping, but he had already fled the country. Authorities confirmed with the FBI that he flew to Doha, Qatar, on December 9 with a one-way ticket and is now reportedly in Dubai. There, he uploaded a video mocking the warrants, claiming he was "on the run" and joking about his actions.

The outcome of this case remains uncertain, and it's unclear whether Pritchett intends to turn himself in to US authorities. This situation adds to the growing list of kidnapping cases involving content creators, such as the 2023 incident where renowned YouTuber YourFellowArab was kidnapped for ransom in Haiti, though he was eventually released and shared footage of his harrowing experience with a Haitian gang.

Meanwhile, former YouTube streamer Johnny Somali is also facing jail time, though his case is unrelated, as he confronts potential new charges in South Korea.
