Marmalade Game Studio has delighted fans by releasing the 2016 Suspects Pack for the digital version of Clue, also known as Cluedo. If you're a fan of this classic murder-mystery game, you'll be thrilled to learn that you can now step into the shoes of iconic characters from the 2016 edition.
Who Are the 2016 Clue aka Cluedo Suspects?
The pack features beloved characters such as Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, Professor Plum, Dr. Orchid, and Mrs. Peacock. With this new addition, you have the freedom to choose your favorite nostalgic character and weave them into any scenario you desire. You're not limited to specific crime scenes or case files, allowing for endless creative possibilities. Plus, you can even mix these classic characters with the newer 2023 cast for a unique gameplay experience.
The fanbase has been vocal about wanting the 2016 characters back, especially with the introduction of the 2023 characters, which some felt were too modern. It's great to see Marmalade Game Studio responding to these requests by bringing back these beloved suspects.
There’s More Coming to the Game!
In addition to the 2016 Suspects Pack, Clue aka Cluedo is introducing a new game mode: the Retro Rules Set. This mode harkens back to the original 1949 rules and is available to players at no extra cost. It brings back nostalgic mechanics that alter how you move and make accusations. For instance, tokens start at specific positions on the board, and Miss Scarlet traditionally makes the first move—unless she's absent, in which case Colonel Mustard takes the lead.
In this mode, accusations can only be made while in a room, and Clue Cards are omitted entirely. You also can't move through squares occupied by other players, adding a strategic layer to the game. Dive into this vintage experience and relive the thrill of classic Cluedo gameplay.
Be sure to check out Clue aka Cluedo on the Google Play Store to explore these exciting updates.
