A new trailer for the highly anticipated TV series Alien: Earth has surfaced online, giving fans an exhilarating glimpse into what's in store. The trailer, which was first showcased at Disney's 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, was shared on the @CineGeekNews X/Twitter account. It depicts the harrowing journey of a space ship's survivors, now on a collision course with Earth after being ravaged by a Xenomorph.

The trailer not only reveals a fresh take on the iconic Xenomorph design but also showcases how closely Alien: Earth mirrors the visual style of Ridley Scott's seminal 1979 film, Alien. A striking scene set within a MU/TH/UR control room, reminiscent of the Nostromo, captures the tension as a crew member frantically seeks help while the Xenomorph closes in. Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, appears indifferent to the crew member's plight, announcing that the "specimens are loose," declaring the crew dead, and setting the ship's trajectory towards Earth. The trailer then shifts focus to six soldiers approaching what seems to be the crash site, hinting at their likely grim fate.

The trailer raises numerous questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives him? Are there other survivors, and has anyone been impregnated by the Xenomorph? How will the soldiers meet their end?

Alien: Earth sets the stage for a thrilling narrative where a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth. A young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, along with a group of tactical soldiers, stumble upon a "fateful discovery" that pits them against Earth's ultimate threat.

PlayFX's *Alien* series is set in the year 2120, fitting neatly between *Prometheus* and the original *Alien*. This timeline has sparked speculation among fans that *Alien: Earth* might explore the Nostromo's departure from Earth or reveal how Weyland-Yutani first learned about the Xenomorphs. For context, the recently released *Alien: Romulus* serves as an interquel, set between *Alien* and *Aliens*.

Last January, showrunner Noah Hawley shed light on his creative choices for Alien: Earth. He explained his decision to steer away from the backstory established in Prometheus, favoring the "retro-futurism" of the original films. After discussions with Ridley Scott about various aspects of the Alien series, Hawley chose to diverge from the bioweapon narrative, preferring the lore of the earlier films.

Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025. Fans can also look forward to Alien: Romulus 2, which is currently in development.
