Arceus Ex possesses an ability that grants immunity to status conditions such as Sleep and Confusion. Its Ultimate Force attack deals 70 damage, plus an additional 20 for each Pokemon on your bench, all for just 3 Colorless Energy. This means it can unleash a powerful 130-damage strike when fully set up.

Arceus Ex also synergizes with eight distinct Pokemon from the Triumphant Light expansion. These Pokemon feature unique "link" abilities that activate whenever an Arceus Ex or standard Arceus is in play:

Carnivine (Power Link) Heatran (Speed Link) Abomasnow (Vigor Link) Raichu (Resilience Link) Rotom (Speed Link) Tyranitar (Power Link) Crobat (Cunning Link) Magnezone (Resilience Link)

Among these, Crobat, Magnezone, and Heatran show the most promise. Let's examine a dedicated Arceus Ex deck for each one.

Crobat (Dark Energy Deck)

2x Arceus Ex 2x Zubat (Triumphant Light) 2x Golbat (Genetic Apex) 2x Crobat 1x Spiritomb 1x Farfetch’d 2x Professor’s Research 2x Dawn 2x Cyrus 2x Poke Ball 2x Pokemon Communication

This deck focuses on two primary attackers: Crobat and Arceus Ex. With any Arceus Ex in play, Crobat can deal 30 damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon directly from the bench. Moreover, its main attack hits for 50 damage for a single Dark Energy, making it a perfect partner for an Arceus Ex you're charging up with three energy.

Once Arceus Ex is fully powered on your bench, you can retreat your zero-retreat-cost Crobat into it for free, launching a 130-damage attack with a full bench. To complete the strategy, Farfetch’d applies early pressure, while Spiritomb spreads damage across your opponent's bench, setting them up for knockouts with Cyrus's gusting effect.

Dialga Ex & Magnezone (Metal Energy Deck)

2x Arceus Ex 2x Dialga Ex 2x Magnemite (Triumphant Light) 2x Magneton (Genetic Apex) 1x Magnezone (Triumphant Light) 1x Magnezone (Genetic Apex) 1x Skarmory 2x Professor’s Research 2x Leaf 2x Giant’s Cape 1x Rocky Helmet 2x Poke Ball

This deck uses Arceus Ex as the main attacker, supported by both versions of Magnezone. The Triumphant Light Magnezone receives -30 damage reduction with Arceus Ex on the field. The Genetic Apex version can deal 110 damage, but only if you've used Magneton's Volt Charge ability at least once before evolving. Note that you cannot attach Metal Energy to the Electric-type Genetic Apex Magneton, requiring careful timing for its evolution.

Since you need a full bench to maximize Arceus Ex's 130-damage potential, Skarmory is included alongside 2x Giant’s Cape and a Rocky Helmet. The Giant’s Capes help Dialga Ex and Arceus Ex withstand heavy attacks while also boosting Skarmory's durability.

Heatran (Fire Energy Deck)

2x Arceus Ex 2x Heatran (Triumphant Light) 2x Ponyta (Mythical Island) 2x Rapidash (Genetic Apex) 1x Farfetch’d 2x Professor’s Research 1x Blaine 1x Cyrus 1x Dawn 2x Giant’s Cape 2x Poke Ball 2x X Speed

This deck offers a more resource-intensive version of a fast Fire-type strategy, similar to the classic Ninetales/Blaine deck. The goal is to apply early pressure with low-energy threats like Heatran, Rapidash, and Farfetch’d while building up your benched Arceus Ex. Giant’s Cape is crucial for keeping Heatran in play and for pushing Arceus Ex's HP over the important 150 threshold.

With Arceus Ex on the field, Heatran can retreat for free, allowing flexible, low-cost rotations among your Pokemon. Its Ragin' Fury attack deals 80 damage for two Fire Energy if Heatran has already taken damage; otherwise, it hits for 40, which is often sufficient in the early game.

More strategies featuring Arceus Ex will undoubtedly emerge in the coming weeks, but for now, these decks represent the most powerful ways to harness this legendary Pokemon in Pokemon TCG Pocket.
