The expansive open world of Feudal Japan remains fully accessible, allowing you to dive into a plethora of side content. Whether it's exploring new regions, tackling additional missions, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, there's no shortage of activities to keep you engaged.
Moreover, Ubisoft has promised to keep the experience fresh with new weekly challenges added through the Animus post-launch. This means even after achieving 100% completion, there will always be something new to do in Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Assassin's Creed Shadows Epilogue and Endgame Explained
Finishing the main quest doesn't necessarily mean you've seen everything the story has to offer. In my playthrough, the credits rolled after completing the Shinbakufu Objective Board and the main quests for Yasuke and Naoe. However, to unlock the true ending and the epilogue, you need to complete the personal stories of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. Once done, return to the Hideout and speak with Tomiko to unlock the complete ending and associated achievements.
As you near the endgame, you'll also unlock exclusive gear sets themed around the Assassins for Naoe and the Templars for Yasuke. These sets not only offer unique perks that enhance each protagonist's playstyle but also feature designs that resonate with long-time fans of the Assassin's Creed series.
Even after the credits, you can continue to level up your characters all the way to the game's max level cap, ensuring a satisfying endgame experience.
What's Next For Assassin's Creed Shadows?
While the main story of Assassin's Creed Shadows concludes at launch, the journey doesn't end there. Ubisoft plans to enrich the game with new content through the Animus and updates to the in-game store. Additionally, a substantial story expansion, The Claws of Awaji, is set to release later in 2025. This DLC will transport players to the Island of Awaji and add over 10 hours of new content to explore.
