Stunning the Beast
The Ebony Odogaron's incredible speed is its most frustrating trait. Stunning it is key to survival. Utilize nearby Flashflies or craft Flash Pods to momentarily incapacitate it.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Soloing the Ebony Odogaron is incredibly difficult. Send out SOS flares to recruit hunters for assistance. Even if no players join, NPCs can serve as valuable distractions, allowing you to focus on dodging attacks while they draw the monster's attention.
Utilize Environmental Hazards
In certain areas, you can dislodge Entangled Rocks using your slinger, stunning the Ebony Odogaron for a short time. Note that this tactic is only effective once per encounter. Combine this with Pitfall and Shock Traps for additional immobilization opportunities.
Beware of Dragonblight
The Ebony Odogaron inflicts Dragonblight, hindering your ability to apply elemental or status effects. Counteract this with Nulberries or equip decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance.
Paralysis: Your Best Friend
Paralysis is highly effective against the Ebony Odogaron. This status effect significantly reduces its mobility, creating windows for significant damage. Ideally, paralyze it while it's near roots to further hinder its movements.
Target the Head (But Be Careful!)
The Ebony Odogaron's head is its primary weak point (3-star weakness). However, attacking the head makes you a prime target. Consider targeting the forelegs and tail for less damage but increased safety.

Capturing the Ebony Odogaron
To capture the Ebony Odogaron, deploy a Pitfall or Shock Trap after reducing its health to 20% or less. Attempting capture at higher health will result in a failed capture and a renewed fight.
