When diving into the challenging world of *The First Berserker: Khazan*, a game firmly rooted in the Soulslike genre, players are met with formidable adversaries right from the start. One such challenge is the battle against Yetuga, the first boss you'll encounter at the conclusion of the Mount Heinmach level. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to emerge victorious against this aggressive foe.
How to Beat Yetuga in The First Berserker: Khazan

Yetuga is an aggressive beast, known for its frenetic attacks when its territory is threatened. As you've learned the combat mechanics throughout the game, you'll need to utilize all of them to succeed in this battle. The boss can unleash both long and short-range attacks, including a leaping slam, making it essential to master your dodges and parries to minimize damage.
Yetuga's attack repertoire includes:
- A two-hit combo starting with a left-handed smash downward followed by a right-handed uppercut.
- A four-hit combo with horizontal swipes using either its left or right arm.
- A downward smash with both arms.
- A leaping single-handed smash.
- A jumping grab.
- A charge.
Throughout the fight, you'll need to learn its patterns and strike during the brief windows between its attacks. Parrying, except for the jumping grab, will allow you to inflict more Stamina damage on Yetuga. You can use its aggressive nature to your advantage by dodging its charge and letting it smash into a wall, leaving it vulnerable for a short time. This is your chance to attack and potentially destroy the ice spikes on its back, which will reduce its attacking potency.

In the second phase, you can parry all of Yetuga's attacks except the grab, which will help conserve your Stamina. Keep the pressure on to trigger the next stage of the fight. When Yetuga roars and powers up, create some distance. It will then pick up a giant rock to smash towards you; dodge or parry at the right moment to avoid damage. Be wary of its frost breath, which creates ice spikes; either move away or parry when it reaches you. Use Potent Attacks when possible, and when Yetuga is exhausted, unleash a Brutal Attack to deal significant damage and bring it down.
Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.
