Today, Bethesda's official Twitter/X account shared news of a major reveal set for tomorrow at 8am PT/11am ET, streaming on YouTube and Twitch. Though the announcement's specifics remain undisclosed, a prominent "IV" in the accompanying image and a backdrop reminiscent of classic Oblivion artwork strongly hint at what's to come.
Rumors of an Oblivion remake have circulated for years, gaining traction with recent leaks. In 2020, a leaked Bethesda schedule from the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023 suggested a remaster was targeted for fiscal year 2022. Initially dismissed as a shelved project, the rumor resurfaced in January this year with reports of a full remake in development by Bethesda and Virtuos. Last week, further leaks from Virtuos' website, including in-development images, all but confirmed the project.
According to last week's leaks, The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remastered is expected to launch on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, with a Deluxe Edition featuring horse armor alongside the standard release.
