Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7: A Glimpse into Terrifying New Evil Endings
A chilling preview of Baldur's Gate 3's upcoming Patch 7 reveals a terrifying new evil ending, leaving players on the edge of their seats.
An Evil Ending Worthy of Bhaal
Larian Studios recently unveiled a 52-second cinematic teaser on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing the grim consequences of a fully evil playthrough focused on the Dark Urge. The preview depicts a horrifying scene: the Dark Urge, succumbing to their father's influence, seizing control of the Netherbrain and cruelly manipulating their companions into a fatal demise.
[SPOILERS AHEAD!]
The Dark Urge's companions become victims of mind control, forced to meet their end in a harrowing display of power. A chilling voiceover declares, "Time for the final act. Your tragedy has become mankind's," setting the stage for a reign of terror under Bhaal. Even the Dark Urge ultimately faces a similar fate.
This is just one of several new evil endings promised for Patch 7. Larian Studios previously announced improved evil endings to provide players with even darker conclusions for their sinister playthroughs, even for those not playing as the Dark Urge. Earlier teases included the Dark Urge walking through a sea of blood and corpses, and a town consumed by "sheer mindless bliss" under the influence of the True Absolute.
Patch 7: More Than Just Evil Endings
Patch 7 is a massive update, including much more than these sinister new endings. Players can expect a dynamic split-screen mode for co-op gameplay, enhanced Honour Mode challenges, and a highly anticipated modding toolkit.
Larian Studios has confirmed that this isn't the end of the road for Baldur's Gate 3. Future plans include crossplay and photo mode, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing improvement based on community feedback.
Currently in closed beta, Patch 7 is slated for release this September. While the exact date remains unannounced, interested players can sign up on Steam for a chance to participate in the beta and experience the new content early. Larian Studios' dedication to refining Baldur's Gate 3 into the ultimate RPG is clear, solidifying its position as a genre masterpiece. For a full review, see our previous coverage.
