Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Reveals New Zombies Features Coming in Season 2

Summary

  • Zombies in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will introduce a co-op pause feature in Season 2.
  • The AFK Kick Loadout Recovery feature allows players to rejoin with their original loadout.
  • Separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies will enhance the user experience.

Exciting news awaits fans of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as Season 2 approaches, bringing with it a slew of updates, especially for the beloved Zombies mode. This announcement comes hot on the heels of a tease for the upcoming season, set to launch on January 28, 2025.

Since its debut over a decade ago in World at War, Zombies has remained a cornerstone of the Call of Duty franchise, and Black Ops 6 is no exception. The mode not only returns with its round-based format but also introduces new, immersive locations designed to captivate players. Treyarch's commitment to enhancing Zombies is evident in the upcoming changes planned for Season 2.

While multiplayer enthusiasts have much to look forward to, Zombies players are in for a treat with the new Tomb map and a variety of new features. One of the most anticipated additions is the co-op pause option, allowing players in the same party to pause the game together—a long-requested feature that will make strategizing and taking breaks during high-round runs much smoother.

Call of Duty Reveals Black Ops 6 Zombies Changes for Season 2

  • Challenge Tracking & Near Completion (Zombies and Multiplayer)

    • Manually track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and 10 Camo Challenges per mode to easily monitor your progress.
    • If you have fewer than 10 tracked challenges, slots will automatically display the nearest Challenges to completion, helping you focus on those you're close to finishing.
    • The top Tracked or Near Completion Calling Card Challenge and Camo Challenge will be visible in the Lobby and in-game via the Options Menu.
  • Co-op Pause

    • In matches where everyone is in the same party, the party leader can now pause the game, allowing the team to regroup on strategy or take a break. This feature, highly requested since launch, will be available in Season 2.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery

    • Players kicked for being AFK in a co-op game can now rejoin and restore their original loadout, minimizing the frustration of losing progress due to inactivity.
  • Separate HUD Presets for Zombies and Multiplayer

    • Customize your HUD Preset settings for Zombies and maintain a different setup for multiplayer without the need to switch between modes. This much-anticipated feature was delayed due to higher priorities but will finally be implemented.

Alongside the co-op pause feature, "AFK Kick Loadout Recovery" is another significant addition. This feature ensures that players who are kicked for inactivity can rejoin the match with their original loadout, preserving their weapons, perks, and points. This is crucial for maintaining progress in Zombies runs, reducing the irritation of being booted from games due to unforeseen circumstances.

Moreover, players will soon be able to create separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies, eliminating the hassle of adjusting settings when switching between modes. Additionally, the ability to manually track up to 10 Calling Card Challenges and Camo Challenges for both modes will make navigating Black Ops 6's extensive challenge system more manageable and user-friendly.

Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to launch on January 28, 2025, promising an enhanced gaming experience for all players.
