Firaxis Games unveiled the post-launch roadmap for Sid Meier’s Civilization VII during a recent livestream. The roadmap details substantial updates planned throughout 2025, including several DLC pack collections featuring new Leaders, Civilizations, and Natural Wonders. Alongside paid DLC, free content will be released via patches and events.
The first paid DLC, the Crossroads of the World Collection, is a two-part release. Part one (early March) includes Leader Ada Lovelace, four Natural Wonders, and the Carthage and Great Britain civilizations. Part two (late March) adds Leader Simon Bolivar and the Bulgaria and Nepal civilizations. Free content in March includes the Natural Wonder Battle event and Bermuda Triangle Natural Wonder (early March), followed by the Marvelous Mountains event and Mount Everest Natural Wonder (late March).
Later in the year, the Right Rule Collection (summer) will introduce two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four New World Wonders. Additional free content and updates are planned from April through September. Firaxis promises continued post-launch support from October 2025 onward. Specific release dates for all announced content are yet to be revealed.
A developer diary further details plans for multiplayer improvements, including larger lobby sizes, increased map variety, and modding tools. These features will be released as soon as possible, following initial updates focusing on bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements.
The livestream also showcased multiplayer gameplay, highlighting diverse strategic approaches to victory. A Q&A session addressed community questions.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII launches for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on February 11th. Early access begins February 6th with the Deluxe Edition ($99.99). For more information, see our preview.
