To initiate the Master Schindel’s Toys quest, you must first engage in the Into the Underworld main mission. While tracking down the informant known as Goatskin, visit the bathhouse and converse with the Bathhouse Madam. Following this, speak with Adam who will reveal that Goatskin has stolen items from Master Schindel.
Your next objective is to locate Goatskin, who tends to be elusive. You have two options: speak with Lousy Mary or follow Udo. I suggest opting for Udo, a customer you can find on the first floor of the bathhouse in the evening. Instruct him to leave, then tail him discreetly. Goatskin will attempt to rob Udo in an alley, providing you the perfect opportunity to confront him.

During your encounter with Goatskin, you can try to obtain the Map of Kuttenberg Underground. If you fail the skill check, you'll need to bribe him. Goatskin will direct you to a body at the Kuttenberg gallows on the city's southeastern side, where you can find the map. Once in possession of the map, navigate the underground area, which is notoriously challenging and easy to get lost in.

Navigate by consistently taking left turns until you reach a barrel at a dead end. At one point, you'll need to jump to a lower level. Continue making left turns at each junction until you locate Goatskin’s hidden stash. Examine the barrel to find a book and an astrolabe.
Return to the surface using the same route. Locate Master Schindel on the northeastern side of the city during daytime hours. Despite his initial brusqueness, returning his stolen items will soften his demeanor. Engage in further conversation to learn about the astrolabe and planetary mechanics.
