The forthcoming Harry Potter HBO series has unveiled casting for Draco Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, Molly Weasley, and several other pivotal characters.
Katherine Parkinson, recognized for her role in The IT Crowd, will embody Molly Weasley, the nurturing mother of Ron Weasley and head of the Weasley family, a role previously brought to life by Julie Walters in the Harry Potter films.
Emerging talent Lox Pratt has secured the significant role of Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter’s cunning Slytherin adversary who challenges him throughout their Hogwarts years. Johnny Flynn, known from Lovesick, will portray Draco’s calculating father, Lucius Malfoy.
Additional casting announced today includes fresh faces as Hogwarts students alongside Harry and Draco, with Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, and Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown.
This announcement follows earlier casting news today, confirming The Crown’s Bertie Carvel as Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge, with Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby set to play Harry Potter’s aunt and uncle, Petunia and Vernon Dursley.

As production approaches, most major roles have been filled, including the trio of newcomers: Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione, and Alastair Stout as Ron.
The series’ first casting reveal featured veteran actor John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, followed by announcements of Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
