Remedy Entertainment has officially announced that FBC: Firebreak will launch on June 17, 2025. This exciting new title is a session-based, multiplayer PvE game set in the universe of Control, offering players a chance to engage in cooperative missions known as Jobs. These Jobs come with varying challenges, objectives, and dynamic environments that demand teamwork and strategic adaptability.
FBC: Firebreak is set to be released across multiple platforms including PC (available on Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Notably, the game will be accessible on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). This marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing, showcasing their commitment to bringing unique gaming experiences directly to fans.
In addition to the standard edition, Remedy unveiled the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, available for $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. The Deluxe Edition includes exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs such as "The Firestarter" and "The Pencil Pusher," along with the Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves), Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin, Golden Firebreak Spray, and the Classified Requisition: "Firestarter." This collection offers 36 unlockable cosmetic items, including weapon skins, sprays, and armor sets. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10 / €10 / £7.
Here’s the official description of FBC: Firebreak:
FBC: Firebreak introduces Requisitions, a system that rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply by playing the game. Requisitions can include weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more - all unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. There are no limited-time windows or rotating stores; if an item is added in the game, it’s always available.
For those who want additional customization options, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items - such as armor sets, custom voice packs, sprays, and weapon skins. Classified Requisitions are purchased with real money. The items are purely cosmetic, have no gameplay impact, and will remain available permanently. Read more about how Requisitions work here.
Remedy has also outlined plans for ongoing support post-launch, with two new Jobs scheduled for release in 2025, and more updates expected in 2026. All new content, including Jobs, will be free for all players. While players can purchase cosmetic items, these will not affect gameplay, and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins required.
This announcement comes during a busy period for Remedy, as they are also developing Control 2 and the Max Payne and Max Payne 2 remake compilation, ensuring a rich pipeline of content for fans of their work.
