Where to Find Filler Metal
Filler Metal is a rare item found in specific locations within the Factory area. Its spawn point varies with each playthrough, and its drop rate is significantly lower than other items. Accessing the Factory: Hanger fast travel point (unlocked after a story progression) is highly recommended as a starting point for your search. Note that you may need to unlock this access point again depending on your story progress.
While movement speed boosts can slightly improve farming efficiency, reliably farming Filler Metal remains impractical. Your best approach involves thoroughly exploring the Factory, collecting all naturally spawned items. However, a more reliable (albeit expensive) method exists.
Where to Buy Filler Metal
The only vendor selling Filler Metal is the Shopkeeper Machine in the Amusement Park. However, this option only becomes available after completing all three playthroughs and obtaining one of the final endings. Using Chapter Select to revisit the Shopkeeper after completing the game will reveal Filler Metal in its inventory, priced at 11,250 G each.
Despite the high cost, purchasing Filler Metal offers a far more reliable method than repeatedly scouring the Factory. Considering the necessity of Filler Metal for crucial Pod upgrades (essential for overcoming high-level enemies), this method might be the most efficient long-term strategy.
