FragPunk, a new 5v5 multiplayer first-person shooter, has launched on PC, receiving a mixed 67% rating on Steam based on initial player reviews. The game's unique selling point is its innovative fragment-card system. These cards dynamically change the rules of engagement mid-match, creating unpredictable and varied gameplay experiences. Developers describe the cards as combinable, counteracting each other, and adding a significant layer of tactical depth to the core FPS mechanics.
Players can choose from 13 distinct launchers, each possessing unique abilities, catering to both collaborative and solo playstyles. FragPunk allows players to showcase individual skill within the online competitive arena.
However, Bad Guitar, the studio behind FragPunk, announced an unforeseen delay for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions. Originally scheduled for a March 6th release across all platforms, the console launch was postponed just 48 hours prior due to undisclosed technical difficulties. A new release date is yet to be announced, but the developers assure players they will provide updates as they become available.
