Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind iconic titles like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption at Rockstar Games, is gearing up to launch his highly anticipated new game, MindsEye. The game was recently showcased in a stunning new trailer during the PlayStation State of Play, offering fans a glimpse into this thrilling high-tech spy adventure.
The latest trailer for MindsEye reveals a game that bears striking resemblances to Grand Theft Auto, featuring dynamic third-person gunplay, high-quality cinematics, and intense drive-and-shoot sequences. You can immerse yourself in the cinematic experience by watching the trailer below.
According to the official press release, MindsEye centers around the protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This device, however, has compromised his memory, causing fragmented flashbacks of his military service. Driven by a need to uncover the truth about his past, Jacob embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his quest.
MindsEye has been in development for several years. After departing from Rockstar Games, Benzies established his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy, and collaborated with Hitman developer IO Interactive on this project. Positioned as a AAA action-adventure game, MindsEye is also set to introduce the Everywhere platform, which we previously likened to a "Big budget Roblox" following a studio visit in 2024.
Although the new trailer did not delve into the Everywhere platform, MindsEye itself promises to be an exhilarating addition to the action game genre, crafted by one of its most celebrated figures. The game is slated for release in the summer of 2025.
