Main quests can be stressful, especially when they involve sneaking through unfamiliar areas under time pressure. Here’s a detailed guide on how to complete the quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - For Whom the Bell Tolls Walkthrough
The quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" begins right after you finish "Wedding Crashers." Imprisoned in Trosky, Hans faces execution once the bell tolls 12 times. Fortunately, Henry is released to work as a laborer around the castle, giving him a chance to save Hans.
Hauling Sacks

Your first task is to haul sacks to a shed, which is not optional. Pick up a sack from the wagon and carry it to the shed next to the fenced area. Drop the sack inside and repeat until you've completed the objective.

Next, assist the blacksmith, who reluctantly asks you to craft a horseshoe. Head through the archway opposite the blacksmith to reach the forge. Gather the necessary materials and craft the horseshoe, then return to the blacksmith for approval. After that, follow the path you used for hauling sacks to the stables and deliver the horseshoe.
Help Fanka the Cook

After delivering the horseshoe, it's time to help Hans. Return to the forge and grab a lockpick from the red pot on the shelves. Speak with Fanka, the cook standing nearby, who usually works in the nobles' kitchen. Offering your help grants you access to the kitchen. Follow her there; you can choose to lockpick the door for her to boost your reputation, which could be beneficial later.
Speak with the Chamberlain

Upon entering the kitchen, you'll find the chamberlain in distress. Speak with him and attempt to persuade him to let you brew a Digestive Potion. Success grants you access to the surgeon’s workshop; failure means you must sneak in.
Make Fever Tonicum

If you couldn't convince the chamberlain, you'll need to use kitchen food to distract the guard and sneak into the workshop. Otherwise, head to the stairs opposite the forge and enter the common kitchen. If sneaking, give the food to the guard to make him leave, then go upstairs.
Navigate to the surgeon’s workshop by ascending the stairs and entering through the right door in the hall. Use the ingredients from the chest to craft the Fever Tonicum and, if you helped the chamberlain, a Digestive Potion as well.
Cure Thomas

If you're helping the chamberlain, return with the Digestive Potion to gain access to Thomas's room. If sneaking, take the noble’s kitchen stairs to avoid more guards. Stay crouched and throw a pebble to distract the guard at the bottom of the staircase leading to Thomas's room. Sneak past him to reach Thomas, who is in bed with his sister Adele. Give Adele the Fever Tonicum, triggering the quest-ending cutscene.
By completing "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* before the 12 bells toll, you'll boost your reputation. Even if you don't, the quest's outcome remains the same.
