Raising livestock in *Fields of Mistria* can be a lucrative venture, but the daily petting routine can become tedious. Fortunately, there's a solution to streamline this process: installing an auto-petter through mods.
Fields of Mistria Auto-Petter Guide
Unfortunately, the base version of *Fields of Mistria* does not include an auto-petter feature. This means you'll need to pet your livestock manually each day. However, modders have come to the rescue with the Animal Friends mod by annanomoly, available on Nexus Mods. This mod not only automates petting but also feeds your animals, making farm management much easier.
To install the Animal Friends mod, you'll need the Mods of Mistria Installer, a crucial tool to ensure the mod functions properly. Here's how to set it up:
- Create a new folder named "Mods" in your *Fields of Mistria* directory.
- Download the AnimalFriends.zip file and place it in the Mods folder.
- Extract the contents of the zip file within the Mods folder.
- Delete or move the original zip file elsewhere.
- Run the Mods of Mistria Installer to finalize the installation of the mod.
The Animal Friends mod offers several features, including the auto-petter, auto-feeder, a friendship multiplier, and a function to prevent friendship loss. The friendship multiplier boosts the number of hearts your animals can gain, while the prevent friendship loss feature keeps those hearts from decreasing.
To customize the mod's settings, locate the AnimalFriends.json file in the mod's folder. This file allows you to toggle features on or off. For example, to activate the auto-petter, change the setting from "false" to "true" next to the relevant feature. To disable any feature, simply switch "true" back to "false."
The friendship multiplier operates differently; instead of toggling, you input a number between 1 and 100. Setting it to a higher number can accelerate bonding with your animals, while setting it to 1 will revert to the default rate.
Upon installation, the mod comes with default settings where the auto-pet and auto-feed functions are inactive, but it automatically sets the friendship multiplier to five and activates the prevent friendship loss feature.
If you decide to remove the mod, do not simply delete the mod folder. Instead, use the Mods of Mistria Installer to uninstall it properly, preventing any potential corruption or errors in your save file.
Before installing the mod, it's wise to back up your save file. While the mod is generally stable, having a backup ensures you can revert if necessary.
