Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion
Stellar Blade is decking the halls this holiday season with a festive update launching December 17th! This update brings new Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, and a mini-game to the post-apocalyptic world of Xion.
New Holiday Outfits and Customization:
Eve, Adam, and even the Drone get holiday makeovers! Dress Eve as Santa, outfit the Drone as Rudolph, and give Adam a less-than-enthusiastic "I'm No Santa" look. Complete Eve's transformation with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
A Festive Xion and a New Mini-Game:
Xion itself transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with festive red, green, and white decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive a holiday makeover, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away"). A new mini-game adds to the festive fun; players can earn rewards by shooting targets on a holiday-themed drone, although specific details on prizes remain to be seen.
Control Your Holiday Cheer:
This update introduces an option to toggle seasonal content on or off, including the Nier:Automata DLC. Found in the game's settings under Gameplay, the "Seasonal Event Content" option allows players to choose between "Auto," "Disable," and "Enable." Note that changing this setting requires a game restart.
Mixed Reception:
While the update has been largely well-received, with many players embracing the "Christmas Eve" moniker for the protagonist, some concerns have been raised. Some players question the frequency of event updates for a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The requirement to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content has also drawn criticism.
Despite this, the update adds a fun festive touch to Stellar Blade. For more information on the game, check out our dedicated Stellar Blade article!
