In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the side quests are a fantastic way to dive deeper into the game's rich narrative and get to know the characters better. One such engaging quest is *Bad Blood*. Here's a detailed guide on how to start and complete this quest, ensuring you make the most out of your journey through the game's beautifully crafted world.
How to Start Bad Blood in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
Once you have the freedom to roam the expansive world of *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, your first step is to progress through the quest involving finding Mutt. Your journey will lead you to a clearing near Bozhena’s hut, where Henry will suggest checking with Bozhena for any sightings of Mutt.
Visit Bozhena at her hut and inquire about Mutt. She will reveal that her daughter Pavlena has gone missing. By agreeing to help her, the *Bad Blood* quest will be added to your journal, kicking off your investigation.
Gather Information
Your initial task is to head to Troskowitz and have a conversation with Baliff Thrush. Next, speak with Innkeeper Betty at the tavern to gather more details about Bozhena and Pavlena. You'll learn about their past and why they were ostracized from the village.
Afterwards, proceed to the designated area to talk to the woodcutters. Seek out Woodcutter Dushko, who will point you towards Roman’s house. Remember to save your game before attempting to lockpick Roman’s door. Inside, examine Pavlena’s basket, then revisit Dushko for additional clues leading you to a clearing near Roman’s house, a favored spot of the couple.
Search the Scene
From Roman’s house, follow the objective marker downhill towards the stream. Turn left at the two large boulders to find the location. Follow the trail of blood, leading you to Roman’s lifeless body. Continue your search uphill to find Hogherd Hugo, then return to the farm in Troskowitz and speak with Hired Hand Straw.
You'll need to successfully pass a dialogue check with Straw to uncover the truth about Jakesh and the events involving Roman and Pavlena. You can also revisit Thrush to decide Straw's fate. Once done, head to the rocks south of Zhelejov to further your investigation.
Confront Ota

In the designated area, navigate around the large boulder to find a path. Ascend the ladder to encounter Ota and Pavlena. With sufficient Charisma, you can persuade Ota to release Pavlena by choosing the following dialogue options:
- “What’s your name?”
- “Let her go and I’ll let you go.”
- “I’ll put in a good word for you with His Lordship.”
Once Ota complies, Pavlena will take matters into her own hands and kill him. After the confrontation, speak with Pavlena and return to Bozhena together. Bozhena will then request that you deal with Jakesh.
Kill Jakesh or Make Peace

For the final part of the quest, you have the choice to either eliminate Jakesh or attempt to broker peace between him and Bozhena. Return to the farm and locate Jakesh at his child’s grave. You can choose to kill him or engage in dialogue to resolve the situation peacefully. Alternatively, you could choose to kill Bozhena, though this will impact the quest's outcome differently.
In my playthrough, I opted to kill Jakesh and reported back to Bozhena, earning a reward.
Should You Kill Jakesh?
Choosing to kill Jakesh will decrease your reputation in Troskowitz but significantly boost your standing with Bozhena and Pavlena. You’ll also unlock new dialogue options with Pavlena and receive a necklace, a memento from Roman.
On the other hand, if you spare Jakesh and facilitate peace, he will offer you 100 groschen. When you report back to Bozhena, you can either keep the money or share it with her. This path also allows Bozhena and Pavlena to return to the settlement, providing a more harmonious resolution.
