Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The announcement was made during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, confirming months of speculation and rumors about the return of Netflix's Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter, who shared the stage with her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, expressed her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," she stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought Jessica Jones to life on Netflix in 2015 with the premiere of Jessica Jones Season 1. The character appeared in two additional seasons and the team-up series The Defenders. However, as Netflix's partnership with Marvel for original content began to decline, the future of Ritter's portrayal seemed uncertain.
The landscape shifted in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to several characters, including Jessica Jones. Following Charlie Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again, fans speculated about the potential return of other Netflix heroes. With Jon Bernthal's Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, Ritter's return in Season 2 aligns with the show's direction.
Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at further adventures for the character within the MCU. While a specific release date for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has not been announced, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that viewers can expect new episodes in March 2026.
