Marvel Rivals Bans Console Players Using Keyboard and Mouse

In a recent official announcement from NetEase Games, it has been made clear that players using keyboard and mouse adapters on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles while engaging in Marvel Rivals will face account suspension. NetEase deems this practice a breach of their rules due to the unfair advantage it grants players, stemming from the heightened control sensitivity and the continued benefit of aiming assistance.

Adapters such as the XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper enable the simulation of a gamepad's functions through the use of a keyboard and mouse. This setup provides a substantial edge in competitive gameplay, particularly when auto-targeting features are in play.

NetEase elaborated on their stance, stating, "We categorize adapters as any device or software that mimics gamepad inputs via keyboard and mouse, leading to a disruption of balance, especially in competitive settings."

To enforce this policy, the company has deployed sophisticated detection tools that accurately identify the use of such adapters. Upon detection of any violations, the implicated accounts are promptly blocked.

On a related note, it's been observed that in Marvel Rivals, a higher frame rate (FPS) can lead to increased ping. While this might be less noticeable with a low baseline ping, a sudden spike to 150 ms from a usual 90 ms can severely impact gameplay. This issue appears to be tied to the frame rate. As a temporary measure, gamers are advised to await a patch that addresses this concern and to experiment with finding the optimal balance between FPS and ping. Currently, some players suggest capping the FPS at around 90 for a smoother experience in Marvel Rivals, which might seem unusual to those accustomed to games like Counter-Strike 2 but is relevant for this title.
