Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown from Marvel Rivals Wiki

Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown was the first new map to be released in Marvel Rivals Season 1, debuting at the season's launch. This map is designed for the Convoy mode, a payload-style game where players either escort or attempt to stop a moving vehicle as it travels across the map. Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown is the third Convoy map in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.

Set under the eerie glow of Dracula's Blood Moon, Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown offers a dark rendition of New York City. The map features several Points of Interest, including iconic locations from the Marvel Universe and real-world Midtown Manhattan:

  • Baxter Building
  • Grand Central Terminal
  • Stark/Avengers Tower
  • Fisk Tower
  • Ardmore’s Bookstore
  • Timely Trend

Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum

This special version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum was added to Marvel Rivals in Season 1. It's the only map currently hosting the Doom Match mode, a free-for-all deathmatch where players fight to survive and eliminate others. At the end of the match, players in the top half of the leaderboard are awarded wins, with the top player receiving the MVP title.

The Sanctum Santorum map beautifully captures Doctor Strange’s mystical mansion, which serves as his home and headquarters. First introduced in a 1963 comic, the Sanctum Santorum has gained fame through its appearances in the MCU. In Marvel Rivals, it acts as Earth's supernatural defense hub, filled with secrets, easter eggs, supernatural rooms, impossible ceilings, portals, and an infinite staircase. Players can even interact with Bats The Ghost Dog on the map.

Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park

Details about the Central Park map are still emerging, as it is set to launch in the second half of Marvel Rivals Season 1. Located in Manhattan between the Upper West Side and Upper East Side, Central Park has been featured in various Marvel properties, most recently in the 2023 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 video game.

In Marvel Rivals, the Central Park map will focus on a stylized version of the real-world Belvedere Castle, situated at one of the park's highest points. This Gothic architectural gem is expected to serve as a thematic hideout for Dracula within New York City, perfectly aligning with the Empire of Eternal Night theme.

And those are all the new maps introduced in Marvel Rivals Season 1.
