Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls – New Characters, Maps, and Game Mode Unveiled
NetEase Games has unveiled exciting details for Marvel Rivals Season 1, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST. This three-month season introduces Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and The Invisible Woman (Strategist) as playable characters, with The Thing and Human Torch arriving approximately six to seven weeks later. The Baxter Building will feature prominently in a new map.
The season also boasts a revamped battle pass offering 10 new skins, with a 600 Lattice and 600 Unit reward upon completion. The cost of the battle pass is 990 Lattice.
A thrilling new game mode, "Doom Match," will debut alongside three new maps:
- Empire of the Eternal Night: Sanctum Sanctorum: Featured in Doom Match.
- Empire of the Eternal Night: Midtown: Designed for convoy missions.
- Empire of the Eternal Night: Central Park: Launching in the second half of Season 1.
Doom Match is an arcade-style mode pitting 8-12 players against each other, with the top 50% declared victorious.
NetEase Games emphasized their commitment to community feedback, acknowledging concerns about character balance (such as Hawkeye's ranged advantage) and promising adjustments in the first half of Season 1. While rumors of a PvE mode circulated, the developers did not address them in this announcement. The anticipation for Season 1 is high amongst fans.
