Once considered an unattainable dream, the possibility of Marvel Rivals making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2 now feels much closer to reality. While NetEase had previously dismissed the idea of a release on the original Switch due to technical limitations, the anticipated successor might just change the game—quite literally.
At the DICE Summit, producer Weikang Wu shed light on ongoing discussions with Nintendo, pinpointing the primary challenge as ensuring seamless and consistent performance on the new hardware:
"The first-generation Switch simply didn’t have the power to deliver the gameplay experience we envisioned. But if the Switch 2 can handle it, we’re absolutely ready to bring the game to the platform."

Earlier, game director Thaddeus Sasser made it clear that there were no immediate plans for a mobile version or a release on the original Switch. Should a Switch 2 port come to fruition, it would likely necessitate a custom build tailored to the new hardware's capabilities.
With the Nintendo Switch 2 now officially announced, major players in the gaming industry are lining up to support the platform. Phil Spencer has hinted at Xbox’s readiness to bring its catalog to the system, and Electronic Arts (EA) has similarly expressed its backing.
In parallel, Marvel Rivals is gearing up for further expansion, with two members of the Fantastic Four set to revolutionize the battlefield in future updates.
