Microsoft Launches Retro Gaming on Game Pass, Starting with 50+ Activision Titles from the 80s and 90s

Author : Noah May 25,2025

Microsoft has announced an exciting addition to Xbox Game Pass called Retro Classics with Game Pass, developed in collaboration with Antstream Arcade. This new feature brings over 50 classic Activision games from the 80s and 90s directly to Game Pass subscribers. The lineup boasts legendary titles such as Commando, Grand Prix, Kaboom!, Mech Warrior 2: 31st Century Combat, and Pitfall!, some of which date back 45 years. A significant advantage for players is the ability to save their progress and resume later, a feature previously unavailable in many of these iconic games.

Microsoft emphasizes that Retro Classics with Game Pass underscores their dedication to "game preservation and backwards compatibility." This initiative is accessible to all Game Pass members across regions where the service is available.
