Monster Hunter Wilds Impressively Launched

The latest installment in Capcom's iconic Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds, shattered records just 30 minutes after its release on Steam. The game's concurrent player count soared past 675,000, quickly reaching the 1 million mark. This not only marks the best launch in the Monster Hunter series but also sets a new high for all of Capcom's games. Previously, Monster Hunter: World (2018) held the record with 334,000 active players, followed by Monster Hunter Rise (2022) with 230,000. Despite these impressive figures, the game encountered a wave of negative reviews on Steam due to technical issues, including bugs and frequent crashes.

Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a standalone storyline, making it an excellent entry point for newcomers. Set in a world teeming with dangerous creatures, players embark on a journey to unravel the mysteries of the Forbidden Lands. Here, they will encounter the legendary "White Ghost"—a mythical creature—and meet enigmatic Guardians, adding depth and intrigue to the narrative.

While the game garnered mostly positive reviews before its release, some critics have pointed out that Capcom simplified the gameplay mechanics to appeal to a wider audience. However, many players and reviewers praise these changes, noting that they enhance the game's accessibility without compromising its depth and quality.

Monster Hunter Wilds is now available on modern consoles (PS5, Xbox Series) and PC.
