Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test will be exclusive to mainland China. While international players can't participate, they can still follow the progress as the game heads towards a wider release.
Gematsu recently highlighted some newly revealed lore, adding depth to the game's narrative. The trailers, showcasing the city of Eibon (see below), offer a glimpse into the unique blend of the bizarre and the everyday in Hetherau. The game's slightly comedic tone is also a notable feature.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is entering a competitive market. Neverness to Everness, while fitting within the established 3D open-world RPG genre, distinguishes itself with several key features.
One standout feature is open-world driving. Players can enjoy the thrill of high-speed city driving, customizing and upgrading a variety of vehicles. However, realistic damage mechanics mean reckless driving has consequences.
The game faces strong competition from titles like MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both of which occupy similar niches in the mobile 3D open-world RPG market.
