In the expansive world of NieR: Automata, players are spoiled for choice with a variety of weapons, from the quirky Iron Pipe to the formidable Type-40 Blade. Among these, there's a weapon that might catch the eye of Square Enix fans: Noctis' Engine Blade, directly imported from Final Fantasy 15. This iconic weapon is obtainable during your first playthrough of NieR: Automata. Let's dive into where you can find it and explore its basic stats.

Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata

To secure the Engine Blade, head to the factory, but note that you won't be able to grab it during the game's intro. You'll need to return as 2B later on. For a quicker route, use Chapter Select mode to jump directly to Chapter 9. Begin or fast travel to the Factory: Hanger access point, located partway through the factory.

From the access point room, take the right path, where the camera switches to a 2D perspective. Navigate past a fenced-off area, ascend broken stairs, and hop onto a conveyor belt with boxes. Be cautious of the next conveyor belt, as it has presses that can crush you if you're not careful. Successfully cross this belt to reach a cylinder where you'll encounter two spider-like enemies.

Proceed through the door on the left, climbing more stairs while fending off exploding enemies. About halfway up, you'll hit a spot where the railing ends and the platform extends toward the camera. Move forward to shift the camera angle, entering another 2D platforming section. Jump across the top of the presses, heading left until you reach a room with three chests. The Engine Blade awaits in the left chest, while a locked chest sits on the right.

Be prepared for more exploding enemies dropping from the ceiling as you approach the chests.

Engine Blade Basic Stats In NieR: Automata

  • Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3

The Engine Blade can be upgraded four times, eventually achieving a light combo of 7 attacks, though this requires acquiring the Masamune for the upgrades. Unlike the Iron Pipe, this weapon boasts a low damage spread, making it an excellent choice for players who prefer predictability in their damage output.
