While *DOOM: The Dark Ages* certainly stole the spotlight at Developer_Direct with its stunning visuals and intense gameplay, it wasn't the only highlight for gaming enthusiasts. The event also brought exciting news for fans of the *Ninja Gaiden* series, with the announcement of *Ninja Gaiden 4*, set to launch in the fall of 2025.
The debut trailer showcased an action-packed slasher game, featuring the iconic ninja Ryu Hayabusa. *Ninja Gaiden 4* promises to introduce innovative mechanics to the franchise, including swift traversal using wires and rails, as demonstrated in the gameplay footage. The game's setting is a cyberpunk city enveloped in toxic rain, where players will battle hordes of modified soldiers and otherworldly creatures to break an ancient curse afflicting the megacity.
In addition to *Ninja Gaiden 4*, the presentation unveiled a massive remaster of *Ninja Gaiden 2*. This remaster, already available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S and included in the Game Pass catalog, has been ported to Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) by Team Ninja. The team has completely overhauled the character models, visual effects, and landscapes, while also integrating elements from newer series entries. Notably, the remaster includes three additional playable characters, enhancing the gaming experience.
Koei Tecmo's efforts have not gone unnoticed, and they rightfully deserve the current buzz and attention from the gaming community.
