Zelda Speedrunner Beats Boss in Under 10 Mins on Switch 2

A The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild speedrunner conquered the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the acclaimed RPG during Nintendo's Switch 2 Experience event in Japan – all within the strict 10-minute time limit.

As reported by VGC, Japanese streamer Ikaboze approached the challenge creatively by using an existing save file while blind to Link's available equipment. The daring player declared his intention to "take down Ganon naked and completely unequipped" before loading a save that placed him directly at the final boss encounter. Against all odds, Ikaboze emerged victorious seven minutes later, earning rapturous applause from amazed spectators.

The achievement becomes even more remarkable considering Ikaboze navigated unfamiliar controller inputs while competing against the noisy convention hall environment that drowned out critical audio cues.

"The crowd size startled me," Ikaboze recalled. "Even staff members were recording with their phones. Being the first to complete Breath of the Wild's demo version earned me congratulations from Nintendo's team."

The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild delivers notably upgraded graphics and framerates, introduces an achievement system, and integrates with Nintendo Switch Online's new "Zelda Notes" companion app. Current Switch owners won't receive these enhancements automatically but can access them through a $10 upgrade path. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers with Expansion Pack membership gain both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrades at no additional cost.
