Path of Exile 2's endgame presents a significant challenge. To ease the transition, developers have strategically placed easily-missed encounters within the main campaign. These encounters offer permanent buffs, additional passive skill points, and weapon set skill points. One such encounter, the Sisters of Garukhan, provides a crucial +10% Lightning Resistance buff. This guide details its location and activation.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears twice: in Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Locating it requires careful exploration of the Spires of Deshar map. While map generation is random, the encounter is always present. Look for a distinctive shrine (pictured above). Interacting with it grants the +10% Lightning Resistance buff, but be warned: activating the shrine triggers a fight with metallic automatons. If you reach a checkpoint before finding the shrine, use it to fast travel back, avoiding unnecessary combat.

Claiming the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance is applied instantly upon interacting with the shrine. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; it's activated upon contact. Complete the encounter in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel for a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why Isn't My Lightning Resistance Increasing?

Many players find their resistance values remain negative even after activating the Sisters of Garukhan. This is due to a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances applied after each Act (Chaos Resistance is unaffected). The Sisters of Garukhan buff in Act 2 cancels out the Act 1 debuff, resulting in a net zero. In Act 2 Cruel, the buff partially mitigates the cumulative debuff. To confirm the buff is active, remove all equipment in the endgame; a -40% elemental resistance indicates the buffs are functioning correctly.
